EUREKA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY

The Eureka-Kamisu Sister City Corporation was founded in 1991. Kamisu is a port city on Japan's east coast. The Sister City relationship offers an opportunity for the two cities to gain valuable benefits through exchanges of art, culture, education, and commerce.

Nelson, New Zealand is a little bit closer to Eureka, not only because Nelson Mayor Paul Matheson signed a friendship agreement in March, 2004 making the two officially sister cities. The cities have a remarkable historical and economic similarity. Each has a thriving arts community, as well.
